Just finished coursework

Finally, I had just finished coursework for doctoral. It has been very tough for me because working hard and studying(including doing homework) was over my limit. Anyway, I need to concentrate on my thesis. I don’t know how long it will take but I know it will be a good and important chance for my life. I am interested in Platform and do some research about the topic.

Preparing for a thesis for a doctorate

It’s already been 1 year since I started my new life as an Ph.D student, and it’s time to prepare for a thesis for a doctorate.  I don’t want to show you all the details of my idea , but one is about Open Source Project and the other is about Open Innovation. Professor Lee skimmed over my idea and expressed his interesting on it. I am very looking forward to the meeting with Lee on next Saturday. Let’s go for SCI!

 

How to install build-essential in Debian

Ok. This is technology article.

If you try to install build-essential package in Debian without CD-rom, you are just stuck in several situation.

The reason that apt-get command cannot install the package is your source.list is old or wrong. So just editing the source list file(/etc/apt/source.list) will make you happy.

Of course, I am not a patent professional, but also a patent lawyer. At most, I am just a professional engineer as of now. I am taking a class about Patent, Power Patenting. The professor, Dr. Kim Jeong Jung, who is a professional patent lawyer at LG Electronincs, is teaching about managing patents as a management. Before I took this class, I thought patents were something that we should prepare for keeping our technologies. But patents are more than simple purpose. As a management, just managing your company’s patents is not enough. Instead, you should be careful from violating any patents from other companies by patent search, and find cases more actively that violate your patents. Based on your poing of view on patents, your patents can be a gold or a paper which waste your money every year.

Google Night – Big fun with Korean Googler!

I got a invitation email for Google Night from Google Korea, and I attended the night show yesterday and really enjoyed it. For some of you don’t know about Google Night, Google Night (for Software Engineer) is some kind of Party that software engineers get together in a group, enjoy the Google’s free food that is very delicious, and listen to their unique story in Software Engineering field. I was little nervous because I have never been there, but after talking about ins and outs of the Google service with Googler I felt very compatible. Googler who sat a #3 table was very funny, energetic and kind guy.

There were 3 presentations. The first was about the Google itself and the second was about the software engineering process. The last was about Android. I can’t tell the story under NDA. Sorry about that. Not only the presentations were very impressive, but also the private talking with Googler was even more interesting.

Thanks you very much, Googler and I am very looking forward to the next Google Night.
